Summer of Grandparents

Our summer is about to draw to a close, with school starting up next week. Although we didn't go back to the US this year, we had visits from both sets of grandparents. My parents were here on-and-off in July and August between visits to the UK and Venice. Such world travelers! I already posted a couple photos of our time with my parents in my mid-summer catch-up post.  Here are a few more:

Cochem
We took another day trip to Cochem, Germany while Pete was at work....

Dad
lunch at the top of the chairlift
A rainy outing to Vianden, Luxembourg...

the pool we visited earlier this summer
(from the pool looking at the castle earlier this summer)
after a baking hot summer of no AC, the return of clouds was welcome
We visited the Luxembourg American Military Cemetery where General Patton is buried...

And I drove my parents into Trier, Germany one afternoon...

We had about two weeks visitor-break and then Pete's parents arrived to stay for a week. We took them to the 675th Schueberfouer...

Grandpa was a good sport and took both kids on the chair swing back-to-back.
Ate at one of the tent-restaurants inside the fair
And had a day out at Parc Merveilleux...

And, we couldn't get the weekend off leading the music at church, so we put the whole family in the band instead!  James even joined the band for the first time signing harmony background vocals.
our sound guy got this blurry pic during rehearsal, but we're all there!
On Sunday after church we all drove down to Switzerland for three nights.  Switzerland posts coming soon!
