They have the kids decorate these over-sized bags which they use in lieu of backpacks - to carry home giant art projects of all shapes and sizes. Here's the back of her bag...
Daphne was her usual friendly, cheery, unfiltered self. She's not afraid to answer any question (however rhetorical) with a detailed example, or just generally pipe up with whatever comes to her mind.
This year the school has an owl theme/mascot...
Adding the obligatory sunglasses to the sun...
Singing songs in the hall during a transition. The kid definitely doesn't have any assimilation issues...
Hooting like an owl in one of the songs...
About to leave. About to cry...
They also took this picture and sent it home with us.

What a sweet little post. I love the photo they took of the two of you! You'll have that forever! :)
This is great. Of course, I love her drawings on the bag: mermaid, dog, birds perched on branches - everything you could wish for....
Thanks so much for posting this Rosie! We feel like we were almost there ourselves! What a riot! She's a sweetie alright!
That's TOO cute, Rosie! What a beautiful girl, Daphne has become. And what a fabulous personality to go with it! Sounds like Soph and Daph would be great friends. =) miss you, friend.
