We now have a 5-year-old. Who likes mermaids. She really is quite the shape-shifter these days.
Here is her mercake...
Her merfriends listening to a merstory...
And coloring tails...
For pin-the-tail-on-the-mermaid (The merbirthday girl's creation).
But not before the merblindfold...
Merpa and Merbro
Merparty!
Happy Birthday Daphne! We love you, both with or without your tail!

Thanksgivingish
Welp, looks like my last post was Halloween. So here's Thanksgiving weekend. We're aiming for all major holidays here. Only the best, only the highlights - that's what we offer here at the Ts blog.
Eager Thanksgiving helpers...
Daphne bailed almost immediately. Something about rescuing a mermaid or setting up a bed for a fairy became more pressing. James, not all in one spot, buddy. Takes 'em awhile to get a handle on that.
Lovely Thanksgiving dinner (but methinks we need more kids at this kids' table)...
Hosted by Grammy and Grandpa...
And attended by Nana and Granddad...
So, I'm pretty much the luckiest lady around...
On to Advent...
This the first year we decided to restrain our anal, symmetry-loving adultness and leave the ornaments exactly where the kids put them.
Nothing like a little (patriotic?) tree decorating to get you in the spirit.
And of course the Portland Singing Christmas Tree...
Daphne got to bring a last minute friend, who's helping look for Grammy and Grandpa in the orchestra pit...
Here they are...
On the way out...
Not before one last photo-op...
Now we're ready...
To go to church and make Advent wreaths!
A fun start to the holidays! See you here at Christmas?

Pumpkin Patch 2010
Daphne had a preschool field trip to the pumpkin patch, and since Pete was able to go, we made it our family pumpkin outing. As I'm looking through the pictures, I'm remembering why I've been avoiding posting these -- We just weren't very "on" as a photogenic family that day.
Like this one could have been decent if we could see Pete...
The kids mostly looked liked they were just humoring us....
I could do a whole blog on the uncooperative picture subject James is turning out to be...
Just not quite what we were going for...
Depression takes over...
Underwhelmed by potatoes...
We'll try to be more on our game next year. You can't win 'em all.
Here's one redeeming shot of Daphne and her two teachers.
